There is no escaping American politics. Before I left for the South America Study Abroad Tour the coverage for the nominations of the Republican candidates had increased. I thought that I was going to be able to escape it while I was in South America but that wasn't the case. I was flipping thorugh the channels late at night in Sao Paulo and it felt like I turned on FOX news the only difference was that it was in a Portugues.
This goes to show you that even though the United States' economy is struggling compared to other developing countries, the US still remains the main influence in the world.
