It was around 8:30 when we went to check in today to Gol Airline at the Aeropuerto Internacional Ezeiza in Buenos Aires to fly to Sao Paulo and my name wasn’t on their list. This was because the booking agency had booked my flight for June 9th and not January 9th. I remained calm and hoped that the issue would be resolved. I was probably more relaxed about it than the average person would be even though my childhood dream of coming to Brazil was being delayed.
Our tour guide in Buenos Aires, Yaniana, was very helpful and spoke to the airline staff to see what they could do to get me on the plane.
Gol, the airline, put me on the waiting list and sure enough an hour later I was able to join the rest of the group in the flight to Sao Paulo after a $424 Argentinean pesos (approx. $100 dollars) fee which I should get reinbursed.
I was lucky enough that there was a no show and one seat opened up. Now that I am here in Sao Paulo I realize how much I would have missed in just a few hours. If I wasn’t able to board the 10:00 plane I would still be in Buenos Aires waiting to board the 19:30 flight. I am very glad I was able to get on the flight with the rest of the group.
