Express Yourself

One of the most surprising things about the city of Buenos Aires is the amount of graffiti around the city, it is everywhere!! It is on the subway, telephone posts, walls, cars, and as far as your eyes can see.

There are messages conveyed in these grafittis that may be to send political message, demand for civil rights, claim their favorite soccer team's territory, and honor soccer greats.

Our tour guide told that in Buenos Aires is seen as an art form and way of self expression.

I asked a taxi driver and he said that some of its vulgar and unnecessary.

The city is covered by all forms of grafitti and in my opinion it gives more character to the city. I am guessing at some point it may get out of control and the authorities will begin to take action. As of right now it is seen as a form of self-expression by the Argentinian people and I will continue to admire it meanwhile I'm here. If you would like to take a look at more Argentinian art take a look at the website of the Asociacion de Dibujantes de Argentina (ADA) http://www.a-d-a.com.ar/
